Started this year! This position gives me the opportunity to combine what my previous position was, as well as seeing the beautiful creations that the girls do right in front of me!
What inspires you about hairdressing?
The confidence that is created for clients! I watch this transformation occur in one session and it’s something that will continuously blow my mind!!
What’s your speciality in hair?
The closest thing I have to specialise in hair is my Indian head massages! I really learnt from the best when I completed my Advance Diploma in Beauty Therapy.
Hidden Talent? (eg. air guitar/skydiving/netball champion)
I used to teach and dance Hula, Salsa and Samba professionally and in competitions! For years growing up that was my side gig. Now I just love the social dance scene. It gets muy caliente!!
Describe your perfect holiday?
Somewhere, where the weather is good and I am coastal! Could be in Bahia, Dominica Republic, Cuba, Southern Italy or France or even the East Coast of New Zealand!!!
What goals do you have for 2021?
To expand my skill set in all areas of my life! Be open to learning and growing, self-development is important!
Also to visit Broome or Tassy. Since travel is limited internationally, why not support locals and i’ve always been interested in going!
George was born in Brisbane and grew up in Dutton Park so he is a local boy through and through. George has owned various businesses from Cafe’s to Award winning restaurants, before beginning to establish Chroma Hair Studio salons in Brisbane with his wife Kim Astro. He brings over 30 years of business experience to the Chroma Hair Studio brand.
“Our journey in the hairdressing industry has been amazing and it’s getting even more exciting. l still get amazed by my wife Kim’s passion for creating amazing new looks for our clients, but I’m most blown away by her dedication to training the next generation of amazing Stylists. Kim and Chroma were recognised for this exceptional standard of training when we won “Best In Salon Training – Australia” at the AHIA Awards. When you come to work to do what you love, it’s not really work is it?
